    MCI Error

    mac__user Level 1

I imported a movie I shot with my camera into After Effects CS4.  When I double-click on the preview of my movie in the upper left hand corner of after effects to play the movie, I get an dialog box that pops up that says "MCI Error".

What does this mean?     I'm running Vista Home Premium 64bit.

      Thanks

MCI refers to Media Control Interface, which is part of Windows' way of handling AVIs. I suspect you need to install a specific CoDec to be able to handle files from your camera, so check the manual and give us a little more info on the matter. AVI and MOV are just container formats that can contain a variety of compression methods just the same as an MPG file extension can mean anything from MPEG-1 to the latest AVCHD/ H.264 stuff.
