I have not observed this, but do recall a fairly recent thread on the same, or very similar. What I do not recall is whether this was in the PE forum, or maybe one of the PrPro fora.
Now, I was going to joke and ask if maybe you filmed this footage in New Zealand, or something, but thought better of it, especially as I could not find a link to that other article for you. I also do not recall if there was any resolution in it.

Have we confirmed that when you say "Photoshop Elements" you mean the Organizer?
I'm not sure where else you'd see that type metadata.
Yes, in the organizer. Right clicking a thumbnail and selecting properties displays the metadata for the clip which includes the date the clip was originally taken. This date is not the same as the date read from the same clip with DV Date (a great free utlility to read metadata and other useful stuff). How can these dats be different?
