That could be the problem or you can try clear your font cache. Check for corrupt fonts then trash your preferences C:>Documents and Settings > User >Application Data > Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CS2 Settings. Repair your permissions
I did trash the preferences and let Illustrator re-write the pref file upon re-opening. I also upped the pagind resources, both were fixes listed on Adobe's tech support. Would a re-install help?
Again, was the the Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings folder or just the
preferences if just the preferences you have to trash the whole folder
as the folder itself can be corrupt.
You will have to do this again. I do not know how many times I have
written this same thing.
Repair your permissions, corrupt fonts, font cache not one at a time
all in one complete effort.
I'll try deleting the whole folder. How do I repair permissions and check for corrupt fonts? If I had corrupt fonts, wouldn't the program crash when loading? It only crashes when I try to change an dobject's fill, and only from the "Contol" toolbar. I'll try whatever you think may work
First delete the whole folder or move it temporarily to the desktop.
Try that first.
Ok, I just got home and tried to delete the whole folder. No luck, Reinstalled Illustrator, installed new vdeo card, works beautifully! Thanks for your time
