When used in After Effects can PixelBender access "global" variables, arrays or store
bitmaps temporally or is all memory freed on a frame by frame basis?
By "global" I mean within the filter itself, not over several instances.
Any comment on holding variables and images in memory while working through an After Effects job?
yes, you can use the evaluateDependents to set up "per-frame" variables that be accessed within the kernel. Any bitmaps declared as inputs will be accessible to the kernel. No kernel data is persisted across multiple frames. For that you need to use parameters. Perhaps I do not understand the question. Can you give a concrete example of what you are trying to do?
