    Web site file size

    sambike
I am looking to transfer a website and need to know it's file size...can DW tell me this?
(I did a search on this site but was unable to find anything that gives me this info)

By 'file size' do you mean the weight of all of the files that constitute
this site? Why do you need to know that?

How many files are there on the site now? What scripting language does it
use? If you could post a link to one of the pages, I could tell you quite a
          bit about it.

            OK..thanks for replying..I'll try to explain .
            I am a painter.
The website is my bike painting website
            www.bikeart.co.uk
It is part hosted on my free webspace from my internet provider. This was originally 10 mb. I filled this space and started uploading pages/images to another webspace and linking to that webspace.
Today I found out that my internet provider has increased webspace from the 10 to 30 mb. (I also found that some links are not working from a painting website I have....www.stuhughes.com)......and I just felt it would be 'tidier' to keep all the files on one webspace. As there are quite a lot of image files, I'd just like to know what size the website file is. ......and as I have had a few computer crashes over the years, althogh I have the images somewhere saved, I do not have the complete website files stored on my computer......I suppose I could download them all......but if DW can tell me the size, it would make life easier.......Does this make sense?

OK ...thanks for the info.....but I must correct you

"Anyhow, here are the stats - it appears that EVERYTHING on those pages is on
                the ntlworld domain -"

Not everything on my bikeart.co.uk is on the ntlworld domain.....there are thumbnail images which link to freeola.com domain. I realise there are broken links, which is one of the reasons I want to put all the images/pages on one domain.

To get back to my original question, can Dreamweaver tell me the total size of everything on a website?

No it can't, but if you downloaded all the files to your computer,
created the website with all good links, you could then use Windows
Explorer or My Computer to tell you exactly how big it is.
