1. Re: About acrobat pro on a server.
lrosenth Jul 19, 2009 11:11 PM (in response to ChromeUser)Yes, Acrobat (Standard, Pro, Pro Extended) are fully prohibited from use on a server.
Adobe, however, offers a VERY nice server-side suite of products called LiveCycle ES. Also, we offer the Adobe PDFLibrary for building stand-alone applications (be it desktop or server).

lrosenth Jul 22, 2009 2:57 AM (in response to ChromeUser)On the desktop - most certainly you can build such a plugin though most of that functionality is already built into Acrobat itself (check out the Batch Processing feature).

jrivera777 Jul 22, 2009 6:38 AM (in response to lrosenth)You said, "Yes, Acrobat (Standard, Pro, Pro Extended) are fully prohibited from use on a server."
Does this mean that I cannot use Adobe Acrobat serverside in a web application?
I am concerned because I am developing a web application that uses some of the functionality in several Acrobat libraries, including Interapplication Communication, to manipulate PDFs server-side. In order to use them, I need at least Acrobat Standard, which would mean I need it on the server I am using.

Ignore this waste of a post.

lrosenth Jul 22, 2009 6:47 AM (in response to jrivera777)Yes, that is EXACTLY what I mean! You can NOT install Acrobat or Reader onto a server.
If you need Acrobat-like functionality on a server, you should look at Adobe LiveCycle ES.
