i dont really get it where are the limitaions of the functionalities of pixel bender??
i´d like to develop a compination of pixel bender and papervision3D.
i´d like to give pixel bender some input like:
- vertex buffer
to create a filter which calculates a spotlight-effect from a real 3D-Object.
i also don´t understand the format definition of image4. what does it meen "4 channels"? what kind of channels?
or image3, image2, image1
can someone help me?
I know that Papervision3D is looking at using Pixel Bender for some things. I think that your proposed filter should be possible.
When we talk about channels, we are talking about how many buffers of floating point numbers can be referenced with the same variable. With images this translates to red, green, blue, and alpha for an image4 (each location in a 2D array refers to 4 numbers). In an image2 each location would refer to 2 numbers.
I don't know if that helps at all...
