    How do I "go to and play" after Action Script

    Freshead

      Hi All,

      I've got this great script which brings my text on through random text but because I've bought the ActionScript I'm not sure how to go to the next frame after the action script has played out.

      If anyone knows that would be great.

      Thanks,

      Kate

          I don't know exactly what you want to do but if I understood correctly you could:

          1.create a new layer (name it: actions)

          2.create a new layer (name it: labels)

          3.create a new layer (for the "next thing" to appear on)

          4.insert a keyframe on the timeline where you want to continue after the script played on each of these layers

          5.
          open your actions,
          go to the keyframe on the actions layer and type: stop();

          go to the keyframe on the labels layer and give it a label name (in the properties window)

          go to the keyframe on the "next thing" layer and put anything you like

          now on frame 1 of your actions layer put in the following code:

          "your movie clip instance name".gotoAndPlay("your labels name");

          to the community: correct me if this isn't right.

            Thank you for answering me so quickly, not sure if I done it right but it didn't work.

            Maybe I haven't explained it correctly but I just need something that will fit on to this script

            #include "wmRandomCharacters.as"
            effect=new RandomCharactersEffect();
            effect.setupEffect(txtfield);
            effect.setText("Welcome to the Canary Wharf Crossrail Station induction Please switch mobile phones to OFF/Silent")

            so once it's finished rolling it goes onto the next frame.
