I don't have any other CS4 product installed. The CS4 Cleaner script doesn't find any installation.
If you have not done so, make sure that your Account is an Administrator. Turn off ALL Anti-virus, pop-up blockers and sypware programs.
As later Adobe installers rely heavily on Flash, I'd make sure to have the very latest Flash Player (free from Adobe).
If this fails to resolve the issue, you might try to install from Safe Mode. IIRC, PrPro will NOT allow for this, though PS still does. Still, you can test my memory here.
Good luck, and I'm sure others will have additional ideas for you,
thanks for your information.
I will try it first tonight on a different machine to see if the problem only occurs on one of my machines. If this works, than i have to check the settings of my first machine. If that doesn't i need other helpful hints of this forum
One more thought:
Did you ever have a trial of either CS3 or CS4 on this machine?
If you did have CS3 trial, you'll need to run the CS3 CleanScript a couple of times for that. If you had CS4 trial, you only get one go.
No, i'd never had any other trial version on this computer.
But i will let the script run to see if there are any traces.
i've installed the trial version on a different computer successfully without any errors.
Seems to be a local problem.
Thanks for your help.
Glad that you got it up and running, though on a different box.
Just remember that the trial does not do anything with anything MPEG - nothing. The MainConcept MPEG CODEC's are completely disabled for only the trial.
thanks for the information. I downloaded the trial only for checking the handling of the software. I think the encoders work as usual.
