I'm working with Illustrator CS3.
When viewing a business card I've made in Illustrator, it looks fine. But when I save it as a PDF and open it in Acrobat, or try to print from the PDF, it skews the uppercase 'I' and the lowercase "l", making them appear thicker and sometimes longer than the rest of the font [eurostile]. This appears when printing from the PDF file as well. And I did convert the font to outlines before making the PDF.
Any reason why this mat be happening? I need a business card printed for a client, and anything I do is just not working.
The problem is Illustrator handling the outlined fonts.
Save the file as PDF with without outlining the fonts. You do not have to worry about the fonts, once you save the file as PDF (Portable Document Format) the fonts and attachments will be embedded to your document.
I hope this helps!
Is there any particular reason for outlining? What happens if you just use live Type?
After outlining, check, whether any of the letters has some contour attached or uses an overprint seting differnt from the rest. For some strange reason AI sometimes randomly assigns such things when converting type...
