This might be a dumb question now. But I just started this weekend to move from Flex 3 to Flex 4. The skinning is pretty awesome to do BUT.
What I didnt really figure out was the difference between a Sparkskin and a Skin (MXML Component).
I mean I know I can override some methods in Sparkskin. But while I tried to do that i a Panel I didnt really saw a difference while I switched the exclusions.
Could some one please explain me the difference or especially the advantage. I searched the internet but I just found examples for each one of them but no explanation. If u might have a good link please let me know.
Thanks very much ... Nick
+1 on that one. I've been wondering the same thing for a while now so I'd love to hear the answer...
This is not the official answer, but the Spark Theme has some common functionality throughout the theme like color exclusions to a baseColor and a few other things and those are implemented in SparkSkin. If you want a completely different kind of theme, you can certainly start from Skin and not SparkSkin.

Thanks Alex, I think that'll be good enough an answer for me.
