I'm editing using Adobe CS4 and Matrox RTX.2. I'm editing a wedding that is one hour and ten minutes long so far. I'm trying to save the project but it adobe says, 'An Unknown error occured while saving project. Select 'Save As' from the file menu to save the project to a new location." I don't understand this, i have over a TB of space to save it to I don't know why it's asking me to save it to a new location. Any suggestions? I'm using an excellent motherboard, have a lot of ram and space, I'm not sure what the problem is.
Matrox maybe? These cards are great as doorstoppers, but I haven't found another use they are useful for.
I have to second Harm's doorstop comment. Premiere just worked a whole lot better once I removed everything Matrox.
Do you have Windows Indexing turned on? Check the HDD's Properties display, and turn it off for that HDD, and all folders on it. It has a tendency to "Lock" files and not let programs access them, until it's done. As soon as any file changes, it Locks it again, while it works. Especially with Media files and even the XML Project files, there's nothing that really needs indexing to speed up a search.
Hope that this is all that's behind it.
BTW, when you do Save_As, does it then Save that file?
