I am very confused and frustrated. I have used this option before in CS2 but cannot get it to work now in CS3 and i need to know if I am doing somethign wrong or missing a vital part of the puzzle.
I just want to create a cropped area of my artboard, to export as a WMF(windows metafile) file, but everytime i do i just get the whole artboard and not the cropped area, even thought the crop marks are set on the crop area.
What am i missing...i've tried reading the help...which was vague about exporting and didn't help. I have tried searching these forums and can't find anything, so please does someone out there know what to do or know what i am doing wrong?
Check, whether the "use artboard" option is enabled. Turn it off to only export selected items/ active items.
But the OP said CS3, in which the Crop Area>Make is still available under the Object menu.
Thanks for the suggestions but am not sure how to check this "use artboard" option is enabled" .
I had a few goes at exporting as a .jpeg and .png and those work fine, but for some reason the .wmf and .emf file formats will not. The reason i prefer to export them as .wmf is that when i stick them in word docs and print off the colour printer that i use, they give much better and clearer illustrations than if i use the other formats. Just seems wierd that it works for some but not others.
