    autosize new window?

    phrarod Level 1
I'm working on a site where there are a lot photos that will go to the larger version when the thumbnail is clicked. Right now it just opens to a full-size browser window. Not very elegant. I don't have control over what size the client will eventually use in the larger photos when they do updates themselves.

Is there a way to code it in css or just html where one the thumbnail is clicked on the new window with fit the size of the larger image exactly?

As always - thanks Murray. I went through the FAQs for an answer as to whether when they say "popup" they don't mean something that a popup blocker on browsers will block do they? Nothing in the FAQs.

Yes, but popup blockers usually only block the popups that aren't triggered
                by a mouse click.

Murray never QUITE gets this - its divaPOPgold that handles images
                  rather than divaPOP.

The popups are *not* blocked by the standard popup blockers (which, as
Murray said, allow user-requested popup windows to open). Email me if
you have any questions, and here is a little example page:

I've been trying to get lightbox to work. I like the look of it, but I'm not having luck.

I followed the instructions here: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/#support

Just a quick look at your source code shows no reference to the three
litebox . js files needed to make this work.

                          1) Download .js file libraries and copy them to your local site folder.
Place them in a Scripts folder.
                          2) Insert HTML > Script Objects > Script > browse to the .js files. Do this
                          for each script.
                          3) Upload Scripts folder to your server.

Using Firebug in FF will help you alot. It would have shown javscript
errors as soon as that page loaded.

FF doesn't like the on load but I can't find anything that tells me why or what the error is. The onload has been in there for the PVII menus and validates ok. In fact no errors at all.

Murray you are not an ACE - you are a god. Ok, I found the error panel. Not sure what to do since some of these refer to the lightbox code itself. I'll keep prodding. Others get it to work, I should be able to.

Yeah - from the errors, it looks like your page is not finding the
                                        javascript files.

I have the lightbox java files in a folder marked "js" which I dragged over from the download folder within Lightbox. Its in the main site folder not a subfolder/directory.

I put this in the header:

                                          <script type="text/javascript" src="js/prototype.js"></script>
                                          <script type="text/javascript" src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects,builder"></script>
                                          <script type="text/javascript" src="js/lightbox.js"></script>

I have the lightbox.css loading with PVII files:

                                          <body onload="P7_initPM(1,7,1,-20,10); initLightbox()">

So would the scr="js/prototype...." be the problem as far as not finding the files?

Try browsing to the location where the page says the script can be found.

Finally got it to work. Whew. The css file was either pointed incorrectly or it liked it all in one folder with subs(doubt it but I did it after finding another install instructions and re-pointed everything there.)

                                              Sweat!
