Recently, we began having problems with PDF files on a network share. This share is on a windows 2003 server accessed from XP Pro workstations. For some reason, PDF files will sometimes give an access denied error when trying to delete or rename them. The files do not show up in use using any known tool or method on the server or workstations. The only way to release them is to reboot the server which is a bad solution as I have to do it after hours to avoid disrupting workflow etc. I have seen this issue brought up elsewhere on the web but have seen no solutions. This ONLY happens with PDF files that have been opened with Adobe Reader (7.0) and has only started happening in the last month or so. Also, it ONLY happens on the network share (to which all users have all permissions).
