This upgrade has really screwed over my projects. Now when I render the screen hangs and just filckers.
Have you updated your video drivers? Even if it is a new laptop, the drivers are probably old.
If that doesn't help, then you may need to uninstall the suite completely, run the CS4 clean script, then reinstall and update.
Thanks Jeff but Adobe should stand up to this as all was well until I upgraded the automatic update. All drivers are current and Adobe should really test their software before before putting out stuff that does not work
I am really upset by this upgrade / downgrade
Having software that works to now not working is very very shabby by Adobe
First, there aren't any Adobe employees here. Not even me. The mods and the experts are users just like you, volunteering our time to help out in the forum. So if you are unhappy with CS4, then you need to take it up directly with Adobe.
Second, I had no trouble with the upgrade. It worked "right out of the box". There are many, many other users who have had the same experience that I have had. Your issues are the exception, not the rule.
Many problems that are asked about here are system-specific, which is why I suggested that you update your video drivers. Updating your audio drivers wouldn't hurt, either.
Google for the Premiere Pro Wiki. It will have many tips and tricks, as well as some in-depth troubleshooting to help you get up and running with CS4 (or any version of Pr).
Thanks Jeff I will check it out
I am surprised that no one from Adobe is on the forum
Thanks for your help
