When selecting png sequence in the render queue will result in a 16384 x 16384 pixel placement of the file as opposed to a 1280 x 720.
The way around this unfortunately is to export as a psd and export from Photohop save as png or I also open the png in Photoshop and do a save as eliminating the word copy in the name field and overwriting the file.
Yes this is weird.
The thing is it only application that seems to have the problem is illustrator. PS, Flash, Fireworks InDesign, Powerpoint even PPro imports it correctly.
Have you filed a bug on this? Does this happen with any flavor of PNG? I don't use PNG much, so I've never encountered that little weirdo, but if it is easily reproducible, it's certainly a bug that needs attention.
Yeah, I thought AE fixed the PNG dimension bug a while back. (Which was a problem in importing AE CS3 created PNGs into Flash CS3).
But it seems Illustrator has not.
I just encountered this bug using CS5. I created a 700x700 comp in After Effects, used the "Save Frame As" to save to a PNG from the Render Queue. Then I used Illustrator to File -> Place the image, and it is a 16384x16384 image on my artboard that cannot be rescaled.
Adobe, this bug has been around a while, maybe it's time to fix it?
This bug is still around in CC 2014. What the hell Adobe?!
Wow, that's bananas. WTF.
I submitted a bug report right after I posted that question... all those versions ago.
Should I file another bug report?
