Adobe AIR gives a FOUC on every pageload... and worse!

If a test page has a background-image set on the BODY or a DIV element, the page will give a FOUC (flash of unstyled content) when the page loads. Even worse, if an external stylesheet is used to bring in a background image, the whole screen will flash white before loading.

This means that if a developer creates an Adobe AIR app using typical web design patterns, the app will flash white from page to page to page, which is totally unacceptable.

The attached AIR app contains ten test pages demonstrating the effect. I tried it on OSX and WindowsXP and the effect was identical.

Is there a workaround for this?
