I have basic knowledge of Flash and do not know how to link an external image to my Flash document. While flipping through a Flash resource book, my thought is that it's through Actionscript, possibly using URLLoader/URLRequest classes. But I don't understand how to do it. Any help with that? Also, do I use a transparent button as the placeholder for the image/actionscript?
In actionscript2 you can use loadMovie and in actionscript3 you can use Loader
Thanks for your help, Webqaflash. But I'm still not there yet. Here's a better explanation of what I'm trying to accomplish. I want an external image to come in and animate right away. So I'm thinking now that a button placeholder is not correct because the animation is not dependent upon mouse actions. I want it to play right away. Do I make the placeholder a movie clip or a graphic? I tried both and inserted actionscript: loadMovieNum("website1.jpg", 0); This loads the image in a separate window.
