I found a color palette on the web and want to use some of the colors on it.
I have the following:
<mx:SolidColor id="sc1" color="5B7444" alpha=".3"/>
on compiling I get a 'Initializer for 'color': cannot parse value of type uint from text '5B7444' ' error.
If I convert the hex numer to decimal, I get the right color.
Doesn't this tag expect a hex number?
Figured it out, you have to put a # in front of the hex, but I don't know the reason behind it.
if you don't put the # here, there is no way for Flex to know that you mean a uint rather than a string. In some situations you can use 0xaaaaaa to signal this, but you need something to indicate the type in this situation.
aha! Thank you for the explanation.
