    Blur tool moonlighting as Burn

    Juandfr

For some reason when I use the Blur tool, it reduces saturation and luminosity. The Adobe support people are dismissing my problem by saying that it only occurs on an old (no longer supported) version, even though I've found this problem in versions MX, 8, and CS4.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

      Hello Jennifer,

I understand that when you use the blur tool on a bitmapped image, it
      reduces the saturation and luminosity.

I am having an issue where when I use the blur tool to try to blend areas of a bitmap, especially on higher intensities, the result
is a patch of colour darker than any of the pixels that were present before the blurring took place. The blurring also seems to have
the effect of lowering the saturation of the affected area.

I have been able to replicate this apparent bug in Fireworks MX, 8, and CS4. Scouring the internet, I have yet to find any reference
s or documentation of this problem.

I'm running Windows XP and sometimes use a Wacom tablet.

Please notify me of any progress made towards a solution of this problem, as I require the functioning use of your products to do my
      job.
