you can add an flvplayback component to your swf that has the timeline animation. you just wouldn't expect perfect synchronization of the two.
Yeah I tried adding the flvblayback component to a new layer by doing a video import.
Everything worked except the captions would no longer show up.
I even adjusted the stage size to more than handle everything.
I'm not very worried about things being in sync.
The time line animation really dont do any movements to be in sync, but I do need the captions to show.
I am using flash 8 action script 2 with Micheal Jordan's captioned playback skins. Since Adobe forgot to include the keyboard control accessibility with action script 3 skins I had to go that route, instead of using the seperate caption controller.
don't import the video.
drag an flvplayback component from the library to the stage and assign its source (as3) or contentPath (as2) to the flv you want to play.
Oh ok I see. I added the flvplayback componant to a new layer then directed the source file to it. now I have my captions back.
Though that created a new problem, now the flvplayback component is not accessible by using the tab key on the keyboard.
I have accessibility turned on for the componant however if I try to assign a tab index to it the entire componant gets highlighted.
Any idea how to fix this issue?
are you trying to tab-enable the buttons in the flvplayback component?
Yes, I tried to tab enable the flv componant through the accessibility menu but that would only allow me to highlight the entire componant as a whole.
if I remove the tab index then only my buttons in the other part of my animation can be selected via the tab key.
I'm trying to get everything tab key accessible
assign tab indexes to the components buttons.
pardon my stupidity but how do you do that?
I can't figure out how to open the controller. it seems like it is locked for editing
I did manage to find the fla file for it and opened that up. but the edits I made did not seem to make much of a difference.
As you can tell I am really new to this and I do thank you for all the help your giving me.
for example, if your flvplayback instance is flv:
this is done in actionscript?
yes, just like i showed. try it.
