    PPro CS4 crashes after exit?

    Joe Riggs Level 1

Everytime I close Premiere, immediatly after it shuts down, I recieve a crash report saying  "...PPro CS4 has unexpectedly quit".

Any clue how to fix this?

      WinXp 32bit SP3, 4gb ram

          Not without details.

The issue occurs even outside of a project/sequence, if I launch Premiere and exit the program at the welcome screen, the crash report is still generated. I can't recall when the issue started, although it seems like it has been there from day one.

No 3rd party plug ins installed.

OS drive is 160 gb, and it only has 5% space remianing, I'm hoping that is the issue, I'll free up some space and report back.

That is definitely a problem, but maybe not the cause of the unexpected error. Use at least 3 7200 RPM SATA drives for comfortable editing.

              Weird resolution.

You are out of space on your C:\. Likely that is contributing to the issue. However, as Harm says, that might not be the cause.

Take a look at this ARTICLE on ways to get clues to your mystery. Most crashes and hangs leave some sort of a trail. Unfortunately, many of the items in this trail are totally useless blocks of code and characters. Your mission will be to quickly bypass those and focus on the useful tidbits. Bound to be something there.

                Good luck,
