    getURL help!

At the end of the flash movie I want it to getURL from an external text file. Is it kinda like the way you do it with a button?

You can place a getURL command at the end of the timeline and it will process without the need to have a button involved, just the one line of code.  Your problem/goal isn't very clear.  Can you provide more detailed/specific information?

Correct using the getURL at the end of the timeline, I want that link to be editable outside of flash in a text file.

Then all you need to do is create a variable that you will assign the the url to and place that variable as the argument in the getURL command.  You assign that variable the value that you load in from the external text file when the file first opens.  If that is the only piece of external data you'll need you might consider using FlashVars instead.  If you Google AS2 FlashVars you should find information on using that functionality.
