I have exactly the same problem, changed the workspace straight after install.
Now only get the splash screen, then nothing.
Un-install/Re-install does not fix.
Try deleting (or renaming) your workspace. For me (on a Mac), this is located at ~/Documents/Adobe Flash Builder Beta. Once you've deleted (or renamed) your old workspace, Flash Builder will try to create a new, blank workspace when it is loading up. This may fix your problem.
I does re-create the workspace , but still does not open.
I have the same problem: Just Flash Screen the nothing.
Uninstall - reinstall does not help.
Installed on another machine: works fine.
Both machines are dual Xeons, different MBs.
I had the same problem. I went a step further than uninstalling though. I uninstalled, deleted the flash builder beta directory and then did opened regedit and did a find. Put in flash builder in the search and deleted anything that it found. Reinstalled and it ran fine.
I did, what you suggested:
directories were already deleted,
searched registry for "flash builder" and "Gumbo" and deleted the keys,
reinstalled . . .
and . . .
the same problem:
Flash Builder does not open, only Flash Screen
Flash Builder only launched once on my system.
I entered the serial I got from Adobe and tested a few new features, all fine.
After closing Flash Builder it does not open anymore.
I have the same problem, I switched workspaces, verified the .ini file had the -clean flag , switched JVMs from 1.5 to 1.6 and nothing. Just the splash screen comes up, and there is not even a log entry in the .metadata folder.
Does anybody from Adobe have any clue why are we experiencing this issue? I also have a valid extended license.
I've had this same issue. What I have found is that it will eventually open (past the splash screen) if I keep retrying. The last time I opened it it took about 8-10 tries to get past the splash screen, but I did not do anything special (-clean, delete workspace, etc.).
I had the same problem; after activating with the extension serial number, the splash screen showed and then died.
The only thing I did ws delete the workspace in my documents directory. Once I did this, Flash Builder started fine.
