You can resize the audio track vertically as big as you like, by draging the track up or down; and zoom in and out as well. You can even change the audio display to samples to have resolution smaller than a video frame.

Depending on the rez of your monitor, the little handles to vertically zoom the Track might be hard to find/see. Just slowly drag the cursor in the Track Headers and when it changes to a line with up/down arrows - you have found it. You can also horizontally zoom with the slider at the bottom of the Timeline. Depending on your screen real estate, you can get that sucka' very large.
PS, you will want to first expand the Track with the little rotating arrow, then expand the horizontal zoom.
