1. Re: Problem w/ Panasonic PV-GS85
Bill Gehrke Aug 13, 2009 6:15 AM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)Do you have the correct Premiere option selected for your videoing option. Your camera is SD DV, unless your project is initially set up for DV (the other option is HDV) that is the error message I get.

Lame Tigrrrr Aug 13, 2009 6:46 AM (in response to Bill Gehrke)Thank you, Bill. But allow me to reephrase my question: How can I use my Panasonic PV-GS85 in Premiere Pro cs3?

Bill Gehrke Aug 13, 2009 7:02 AM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)I unfortunately assumed CS4, drat these new forums formats. It is a standard miniDV camera and you should just be able to use the default DV presets.

Lame Tigrrrr Aug 14, 2009 6:03 PM (in response to Bill Gehrke)Can I use RCA composite cable with this device so PrPro can be able to import the video from its tape?

5. Re: Problem w/ Panasonic PV-GS85
Bill Gehrke Aug 14, 2009 7:37 PM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)Essentially no. Why would you want to? You have a direct digital output on your Firewire connection that can precisely control your camera. To capture the analog from your RCA composite cable you would have to have another piece of hardware and you would have to manually control the strat and stop of the camera.
Have you set the camera to the play (VCR) setting? Then restart Capture?
If you are sure that you have all the settings correct the last resort maybe to call Adobe.

Lame Tigrrrr Aug 14, 2009 7:38 PM (in response to Bill Gehrke)This is a hardware matter. I know it's the best solution
firewireand I have yet to get my pc firewired. My pc is, you know, a little bit old: a Pentium 4 with 3.00 GHx CPU and 2 GB RAM ((DDRAM). It has a lot of USB ports but no firewire. So, I'd rather go for it.Thank you, Bill.

JSS1138 Aug 14, 2009 7:40 PM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)I just upgraded from a P4 3.6 GHZ with 1 GB RAM. Worked fine with CS4 and DV media.
You should check your motherboard manual. I find it hard to believe that any LGA775 mobo doesn't have a Firewire port built-in.

dsladek Aug 15, 2009 12:10 AM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)If you really don't have 1394 on that MOBO, then you can get a cheap 1394 cad to solve your problems.
Just one example of a low cost vendor for a 1394 card.
