That's just not enough information for us to even begin to help.
As the media encoder doesnt import my project.
It is not supposed to. Importing is done with the import function under File.
Stuck is the way i would describe my situation..............well if the adobe media encoder is supposed to convert videos only how the heck am i supposed to export my project as the media encoder doesnt import my project.
Stand alone AME wont import a project but it can import individual clips. If all you want to do is use it to convert a clip from one format to another this is possible. Drag clips into it.
sry if im not being clear , let me try again, ive done some editing work on a promo and want to export the project in avi format now when i go for file_- export-media ,adjust the export settings and click "ok" the Ame launches and does nothing.
About as clear as mud. What are you talking about, IMporting or EXporting? With what settings from what source material under what OS with which project settings and what codecs with what drivers and hardware, and the whole enchillada of other info required.
All exports go through AME. Simply choose the type of export you want and when you submit it is added to the batch queue in AME. Just press Start on the queue to start the queueu processing. While its exporting you can continue to work in PR or other ap.
ive completed a project in premier pro cs4 and am willing to export it , i select my workarea and try to export it . these r my export settings
Format ; microsoft avi
Preset ; Pal dv
Video codec; dvpal
aspect: d1/dvpal 1.0940
sample rate 48000 hz
channel ; stereo
sample type 16 bit
Now i press ok
The Ame launches and displays nothing in its work area or source window watever its interface is called
By the way im a newbie so plz ignore my stupidity.
The thing on importing was that i tried to go the other way round and tried to import my project file to the AME it doesnt respond either,,,,, donno if this was simplt idiotic of me,

Try launching AME by itself and add a sample file to its queue; see if it exports. Maybe you have a bad install of ame.
Also; if your project is very large; it can take a minute for the project to appear in the queue. The 4.1 udate imprvose that delay quite a bit.
thanx , but no thanx,
1. the AME responds to simple mpeg or other video formats,
2.my project is nowhere near a big project it is a 50 seconds promo which is edited out of 5 video clips + a title and an mp3 sound track. donno if thats big,

If AME works on individual clips but not from an export from Pr, then its likely you have a smurfed install.
so i assume i would have to reinstall it
I would definitely try a Repair Install first. The PrPro installer is pretty smart, and will usually correct things, with the Repair Install. If this does NOT work, then uninstall, run the Adobe CS4 CleanScript a few times, and do a complete reinstall.
