If I understand what you wish to do, probably the easiest way to do it is to Export, using the WAB (Work Area Bar). You can set it to JUST the Frames that you want, and then Export to DV-AVI, or whatever works best for your particular Assets. This will create a new AV file of just the section that you set the WAB to.

This shows using the WAB to Render just that section, but it works for Export too. Just be sure to set "Work Area Bar," and not the entire Project.

Glad that it worked for your needs. In PrPro, one can do it with a tad more ease, using "true" Sub-Clips, but the end result is almost identical. Actually, as the Sub-Clips can be a bit more stressful on one's computer, depending on the full size of the Project, I think that I'd use the WAB method more often even in PrPro.
