Yes, everytime I use it it tries to install and I get the same message that you did. I have tried continually, but nothing works??
Anyone have any ideas?
Same darn problem here. Cannot install 9.1.3 (Dutch) and/or remove 9.1.2 (Dutch) either. Also says "CPSID 49166" cannot be removed, and "ïnstallation source for this program not available" At present cannot open any PDF-file. Is there a "clean install" available somewhere? Would be grateful for useful advice.
You can use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool to remove Readers information from the registry. You can then install from scratch.

Thank you, I'll give it a try
I have found this on my computer that was used to update Adobe Reader; Adobe Updater6, Version 6,2,0,1474 which was last modified on 1/8/09. I also noticed that I didn't have Adobe Air activated. After posting my query, I removed Adobe Reader with Microsoft Add/Remove program and downloaded fresh version of Reader 9.1.3. Then I restarted computer and opened program without any problem.
Now I have a fresh query, should I remove Adobe Updater 6? As now I have Adobe Air activated and listed in my firewall programs.
No; Adobe Updater 6 is the latest version.
But you can remove Adobe AIR if you don't use it. (The only application I know that uses it is the Adobe Media Player.)
I would like to thank all who gave me suggestions, they are very helpful. Thanks again.
