    PDF fields

    mike@mmm

I have a product purchased form a vedor that creates PDFs.  There is an option to create fields but it's nor supported by the vendor so I can't get any information from them.  Many years ago, I created the fileds required and then tested those firlfds but I can't remeber what I used to test (ex: tab from field to field).  I need to create additional fields but don't know how to test.  All I have the is acrobat reader.  Can someone tell me the easiset way to test.

      Thanks, mike

You cannot add fields with Reader you need Acrobat.

I know that.  I'm not trying to.  I have a product that creates PDFs with

fields.  I want to know how to look at them and test (tab thru the fields

and make sure the edits work).

If the fields exist and work properly then you can tab through them using Reader.

                graffiti,

Are you stating that if a PDF was created with a product, e.g., PDF995, which can create PDFs with document properties fields, e.g., Title, Subject, Author, Keywords, and Comments, Adobe Reader should be able to tab through these document properties fields? If that is the case, does that mean Adobe Reader can tab through the fields, but does that imply that Adobe Reader can or cannot edit these same fields?

                Thanks

                  Mystery solved

The package that I was using to create the field was setting it as a read

only field and that why I couldn't tab to it or enter data into it.

Thank you all for your feedback.
