1. Re: Mouse cursor over button
Bill Hunt Aug 22, 2009 12:18 PM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)The Mouse Cursor is a function of the mouse driver and the OS.
Now, you can do some "tricks," that might make it look like the cursor has changed, but they will be clunky, probably not look good, nor will the "impression" last very long - plus they would be a ton of work. Remember, on a computer you are working through a DVD software player, and it then directly interfaces with the OS and its display settings, i.e. the mouse driver and its settings.
You could get closer if you were working in Flash with Web-based video, but there would still be limitations.
Good luck,

2. Re: Mouse cursor over button
Lame Tigrrrr Aug 22, 2009 3:04 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Don't mind this. Bill, I was just a little worried about the mouse cursors encore used over the menu buttons when I did a preview of my work. I thought, like in windows ui programming where you can set in your window class the cursor that will be shown when the mouse hovers on it, that you can also, and you have to, set it in the button's property. Anyway, thanks for the reply though.

3. Re: Mouse cursor over button
Bill Hunt Aug 23, 2009 5:24 PM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)Now, if you are viewing your DVD on a computer, via a DVD software player, you can set the cursors in the OS. However, you have zero control with how another will have their cursors set. En has no control over this - sorry.
Good luck,
Hunt

4. Re: Mouse cursor over button
Lame Tigrrrr Aug 23, 2009 6:43 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks for the concern, Bill. I already understood it. It was En's way of differentiating menu links from another objects like simple backgrounds that I was worried about
its cursorwhich I thought was that it would be anywhere my video will be played because it is what it was when I built my video. It's purely Encore's.But I've got new problems to ask help for, just tell me if I have to make a new thread but I will just put it here for the mean time:
I wanted to make chapter indices. When I first made the command "Create Chapter Index", En said the menu does not contain a previous button so it has to make it for me, I clicked ok. But then it generated a "General Application error" message and, eventually failed to make the chapter index. I checked my project and found no error. What's the likely cause of this?

5. Re: Mouse cursor over button
Bill Hunt Aug 24, 2009 10:25 AM (in response to Lame Tigrrrr)I would start a new thread. The reasoning behind that is two-fold.
First, others might see this thread's title and not bother to look. This would cut down on the help that you'd likely get.
Second, when people come here to search for a problem, similar to your new one, they will likely not find what they think will help them, tucked into another thread.
I'll keep my eyes out, and hope that I can help with the new issue.
Good luck,
Hunt
