Here's my situation: I am a web / graphic designer of 13+ years with extremely limited Flash experience. That said, a client wants to create an iphone app so I need a crash course in this stuff. I already own Flash CS3 Pro. What do I need to create 3D animations to import into Flash (such as rolling dice)? Can you recommend a cheap (but good) app for this? I need to tie it into the accelerometer in the iphone some how... would that be done with actionscripts? (PS: I have a programmer who will help with this stuff)
Flash is not currently supported on the iPhone, most 3D animation on iPhone is done in open GL, although you could make a quicktime movie if that would work for your purpose.
You need to go to http://developer.apple.com and sign up as an iPhone developer and download Xcode and the iPhone SDK.
Check out unity3d,
I have not used it myself but it mentions been able to export its apps for iphone and can support a few coding languages, C# been the closest to actionscript, and way more easy to learn compared to getting down with objectiveC..
