    Encore Audio Transcoding

    Lame Tigrrrr Community Member

Is audio transcoding always a part of the process Encore has to get through in building the project? Or there's a premiere audio export setting that'll make this unnecessary? I've just exported to encore my PrPro project and it took long to finish it. And after making some other things for my DVD project and I finally built it in encore, audio transcoding took even longer. If the latter question is true, please give me the proper setting to attain it.

After posting this thread, I flipped through the pages in this forum and found out that there are, and were, encore users who also got into this kind of "problem". When I looked back into my project,  I saw in the audio options/properties something that says: DVD Audio Transcoding-> Automatic, Don't Transcode among others. Since I'm already satisfied with the sound of my audio, I simply clicked on don't transcode although I haven't got to know yet the benefits transcoding offers. Unless someone wants to explain to me why is transcoding a must, just ignore this thread.

If your material is PCM/WAV and your Burning settings are PCM/WAV, you should not need to Transcode.

Now, if your settings are AC3 DD, Encore will want to Transcode to match that.

If you do not need the real estate, keep PCM/WAV. Slightly better Audio.

            Good luck,
