    fireworks placeholders for dreamweaver

    lpaquinhand Level 1
I created my website using photoshop and then did my slices in fireworks. I wanted to be able to edit a few areas of text in dreamweaver instead of going back into fireworks to do it and then exporting all over again. (am I correct in doing it this way)?
I created a rectangle in fireworks on the areas I wanted to use as my placeholders where my text will be placed and changed in dreamweaver. I also did the slices for them. Then when I deleted those areas in dreamweaver to add my text, obviously my background deletes as well. I have a grungy background that I created and don't want it to be gone. Is there any way of creating a slice in fireworks and adding the text in Dreamweaver while keeping my background? Is there another way of doing this that I'm not thinking of? Please advice.

There is a significant school of thought that say "no" to this question.
The HTML that FW writes is adequate for prototyping but falls way short on
the robust meter when it comes to actually developing the HTML pages.
