"If I give you a penny, you will be one penny richer and I'll be one penny poorer. But if I give you an idea, you will have a new idea, but I shall still have it, too. " - Albert Einstein
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, neither of these links are concerned with scripting JDF workflows.
I do think you are going to do this by Acrobat JavaScirpt. You might be able to make a plugin or standalone program that could create the JDF ticket, but that if far beyond this forums scope.
Do you have any advice as to where I might look for information related to developing a plugin for Acrobat?
Also PDF's support JDF, Job Description File, but Adobe is only one entity with input to this file and control method.
You can download the Acarobat SDK from Abobe's PDF developer site. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/ . Acrobat SDK also interfaces to VB, C, and other languages. But it is more for interacting with PDF files.
You can find more information about the JDF specification and documentation at the CIP4 (Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress) site. http://www.cip4.org/
