    Dw2004 templates

    Level 7

No doubt Murray will be along shortly - and what he doesn't know about
      templates probably isn't worth knowing

My friend who has only just upgraded to CS3, in common with many
others didn't seem to know that it's possible and highly desirable to
have the meta description tag in the "InstanceBeginEditable
      name="head" " region.

This is what he said: - I'm 95% sure he is incorrect and probably set
up the templates incorrectly - a common mistake we see a lot here.

"The main reason I've had duplicate meta description tags is that DW
MX2004 does not allow meta tags in editable regions of templates. I've
now discovered that this also applies to templates created in MX2004
when edited in CS3. You can add them to the template but they just do
      not appear on the pages."

      Any comments ?

Your friend is smoking crack, so to speak.

          Completely wrong.

          > I've now discovered that this also applies to templates created in MX2004

          Even wronger.

What is his procedure for demonstrating this? And by the way, the Template
engine in MX2004 is the same as the one in MX and in CS3, so nothing has
changed over that span of versions.

          Precisely.
