Pixel Value Change Windows to Mac

    Marc Trzepla

If I make a test animation with boxes of greys of different values ... the values on Windows are different than on a Mac.  Both After Effects are in 8bpc mode, with Color Management set to Off.  Whites are white and blacks are black but the middle values are whacked.  I know there are perceptual gamma differences between Macs and Windows but shouldn't a 50% grey pixel be a 50% grey pixel no matter what, regardless of how it's being displayed?

I used the Animation codec at 100% for my test.

I've never seen this before.  Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
