I'm trying to do a hit test with an animated gif, and a irregularly shaped box outline. I want to hit test just the irregular box. That is to say, when the image runs in to the lines that form the outline, I want to know. The problem I'm having is anytime the image hits any part of the box, inside it or on the line, the hitTestObject function returns true. Is there any way to do this?
Mike Chamber has a really nice post on this matter..
Basically your gif image could be converted to a bitmapData object and the BitmapData object has function call hitTest this is very useful function when dealing with collision detections.
