    Newbie Question (escaping characters?)

      Hi everyone,

I'm trying to put in an embed string value for a <mx:TextInput> component...

      <mx:TextInput text='<object width="{embedWidth}" height="{embedHeight}"><param name="movie" value="http://something.php" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><embed src="something.php" flashVars="cid={embedCID}" wmode="transparent" width="{embedWidth}" height="{embedHeight}" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object>'/>

Unfortunately, I can't have "<" or ">" characters... I'm used to PHP where you escape special characters with a \.

How do I escape characters in Flex/MXML/AS3?

      Thanks,

      DK
