Have a look at the code for the VideoPlayer.as its not that straight forward to override the behaviour.
fullScreenButton_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void (line 1808 in latest sdk)
there is a note inside the source - maybe raising a request on the adobe bug site for the SDK would be a good idea..
// FIXME (rfrishbe): Should we make this FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE if in AIR?
systemManager.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; (line 1872)
Yep, David's spot on. It's on my TODO list of things to look in to. Given that our VideoPlayer doesn't add any listeners for key events, I'm not sure whether we definitely need to support this use-case, but supporting it would more-easily allow someone to add their own key event listeners.
I'm just curious, but why exactly do you need to be in full_screen_interactive mode? What are you planning to do with these keyboard events?
In the mean time you could replace the full_screen button with your own, and that could be used to toggle the player size between app_stage and normal size, keystrokes using application full screen interactive would still be available to you. Not the ideal solution but the mimicked behaviour of fullscreen is as close to the real thing anyway.
I'm writing AIR application that will show video for spacial media center
system that has only keyboard, so i need full screen with keyboard input
I have no problem to pass to interactive fullscreen, but i need also to pass
the VideoPlayer to fullscreen state so the control will vanish after few
Is there a way to tell the videoPlayer to do that?
You can control some of the behaviour by customising the skin, I had a quick look and it seems that you could force the state to fullscreen while the player is really maximised, I understand that your app is in interactive full screen mode so I suspect that just mazimising the player would do the trick as long as the skin sets the "state" to full screen in order for the player to use the autohide function for the navigator.
That will do th job, Thanks a lot!
