1. Re: How to export a 3d panorama
Mylenium Sep 6, 2009 1:11 AM (in response to klsteven-vBdprK)No, Photoshop does not export interactive panoramas. For that you need dedicated programs like Stitcher or Autopano and then you wouldn't even require to use Photoshop.

klsteven-vBdprK Sep 6, 2009 1:36 AM (in response to Mylenium)Thanks Mylenium. But then what is the pano-function for, if I cannot export it? Doesn`t make sense to me, if I can only look at the 3d-pano in Photoshop.

3. Re: How to export a 3d panorama
Mylenium Sep 6, 2009 2:30 AM (in response to klsteven-vBdprK)There's a million uses for image based panoramas like backgrounds for video and 3D programs as well as PS itself. You must take a much broader view on the matter. The inability to export the stuff to an interactive format is certainly something that is missing should be added somewhere along the way, but considering, that PS has so many other things to change and fix first, I wouldn't hold my breath for seeing this any time soon...

klsteven-vBdprK Sep 6, 2009 3:14 AM (in response to Mylenium)Mylenium, I`m afraid I don`t get it yet. Assuming I have made a 3D panorama in PS (like seen in that video), what can I now do with it besides looking at it in PS.

5. Re: How to export a 3d panorama
Mylenium Sep 6, 2009 8:09 AM (in response to klsteven-vBdprK)If you want to present it interactively, you are simply using the wrong tool when using PS. For anything else - you can map it to a cylinder or sphere and have it act as a sky/ environment for instance. This is a common use in 3D programs and compositing applications. Likewise, you may be able to load it as a texture of some level editor in a game engine and also use it as a scene background. If neither of that is of any use to you, then yes, you're stuck with just looking at it.

Bill Hunt Sep 8, 2009 10:23 AM (in response to klsteven-vBdprK)(like seen in that video),
I looked for a link to a video, but found none. Maybe I just missed it.
Do you have PS, or PS-Extended. There are many AV aspects added to Extended, but you will still be limited as to what you can do within the program. It's like Adobe Premiere, the video editing software. You can do a lot, but at some point you may have to go to Adobe AfterEffects for some animation. Same thing with authoring to a DVD-Video - you have to go to Adobe Encore.
Mylenium has suggested some other programs, that should benefit you better. I'd look into those.
Good luck,

klsteven-vBdprK Sep 8, 2009 11:18 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks for your reply.
Sorry, I forgot that link:

And yes, I have PS Extended. Otherwise that 3D pano is not possible anyway.
I thought it should be possible to export that kind of pano to Quicktime VR (I`m not sure, but I guess this could work) or something similar.
There are so many export possibilities in PS Extended that I thought at least one of them could do the trick.
