I installed Reader for the wrong operating system and now the display settings are messed up.

I am using Windows 2002, but it wasn't listed as an operating system when I went to download Adobe Reader. So I downloaded the setup for Windows SP2, thinking that it wouldn't matter...My mom installed it and restarted the computer some time later when she was done using it. When it was done, I came back and the resolution was blown up and the color quality set to 16 bit. My computer wouldn't let me change the display settings. I tried trouble shooting and updating the drives, but that didn't make a difference either. I've tried restarting multiple times and uninstalled reader, but nothing is working...Is there anything I can do? Also, what is the correct adobe reader version that I should have downloaded?

Thank you for all your help...
