Do you mean you want the browser window to close?
Or this is a possibility as well:

I tried the recommended
private function closeMe():void
var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
under Firefox with no success - no errors, it just didn't
Any idea why?
Sounds like you're looking for the functionality found here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/WorkingWithWindows_4.html#1036233

No. I'm trying to close the Browser on command - as in someone'logs out' of
your application, etc.
If I remember correctly
I.E will give you the message do you want to close, you say yes or no.
Thanks for the info.
I'll try it under I.E. - that's the ultimate target.
if you are allowed to do this, simply clearing your browser would work in all browsers.
navigateToURL( new URLRequest( 'about:blank' ), '_self' );
To close Browser call ExternalInterface.call("Window.Close()");
This doesn't seem to do it. Thanks anyway.
This seems to be the most general solution. It has the
desired effect. I think the client will be pleased.
Thanks to all who helped me on this.
I tried this but it doesnt work when the Flex 4 web app is run through Flash builder. Any pointers?
