Doesn't that happen over the Internet?
Not in my case!!!
The hdd that the program was on - is no longer but when I 'finally' got the program to install
on another hdd it now says it is already active on the other and I can't deactivate it from that
one because its no longer available, so I need tech to deactivate the old one---I guess.
Strange. I've reinstalled 2.0 and CS4 a combined total of 5 or 6 times, never once deactivating. Neither version ever gave me an issue.
Well, on hold for any more than ten minutes and I personally would hang up and try later.
After you get everything working again, consider buying this program http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
You may make a FULL hard drive backup to DVD or a USB hard drive... so if your hard drive dies, you may just pop in a new drive and do a restore
Reasonable price and works as advertised (no, I don't get any $ for recommending... I use it and it works for me)
Okay, I tried the link and still unable to activate.
Now I can't even open the program after trying to activate.
Before it was telling me that I had 30 days, now that option is gone and
I can't do anything.
I think customer support has my phone # flagged because Ive been on
hold for another 1/2 hour now and nothing. This is redicullous.
Okay, how bout this
can someone tell me how to de activate the program off my old hdd if I can get the computer
tech that took it out to try to retreive (sp) data off of it.
Ive been on hold all day and don't know what else to do
Instead of contacting TS, as they are unlikely to be able to help you, try Sales. Look on this LINK for your location. I do not recall if you are in USA/Canada, or Elsewhere.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
PS - I was looking for Harm's private phone #, to give it to you as a joke, but cannot find it. He must have hacked my machine and removed all traces of it...
If you ARE in the USA/Canada, try this number: 800-833-6687 for Customer Support/Sales.
PS- I promise that it is NOT Harm's telephone!
Unless you are willing to spend your day 'on hold' with Adobe, I would try to uninstall, run Clean Script CS3 2 or 3 times and reinstall, apply all updates and then try the licensing repair utility. Look here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402767.html

Yes, recent reports of "Hold Hell," have painted a bleak picutre, indeed. Seems that the music is old Ravi Shankar cuts and they are played at about 120db. That would make one pine for the "elevator music" of the olden days.
Im taking a break from tech for now, Ive been tying up my phone line
all day and its a business phone.
Besides if I wait any longer their gonna have to fit me for a little white jacket!
Do you think that even if Im getting the screen that says I can't activate it because its not deactivated from the other computer
that running the clean script again and the licensing repair download will work?
One can only hope. If it does not work, you have to contact TS again.
