No. Those are effects-internal controls that cannot be propagated individually to viewers. For checking the matte, you can of course always toggle the Alpha channel single channel view (Alt+4). They are the same.
Oddly, the foundry has published in their keylight manual (pg 24) along with a screenshot the setup I am seeking:
It can also be useful to view the Status and Source side by side as shown in Figure 14 so that you can repeatedly pick from one while viewing the result in the other window."
How did they do it?

If you look closely, you see that they use 2 layers. One of them is opened in a layer viewer, while the other remains in normal comp view. That's how you can compare source and result. A similar trick is to simply use the source crops to get a split-screen comparison...
