Stan Jones Sep 10, 2009 11:34 AM (in response to sheryl fillmon)What assets and how transcoded? What are your datarates? That's a lot on a disk. I don't think this is so much "synch" as datarate.

Bill Hunt Sep 10, 2009 12:40 PM (in response to sheryl fillmon)With 3 hrs. 40 mins. can you use a DVD-9 (DL)? As Stanley says, that is a lot of data on a DVD-5.
Good luck,
Hunt

sheryl fillmon Sep 10, 2009 1:37 PM (in response to Stan Jones)@ Stan- I really don't know my data rates or the other info. but it seems that I need a larger DVD. I thought the Verbatim DVD-R with 4.7 GB of space was enough. I'm going to put the project on 2 DVDs and hope this solves the problem. I was trying to put 7,236,499 KB on the disc and that does seem like it's too much.
Thank you!!

sheryl fillmon Sep 10, 2009 1:40 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)@ Hunt, as I mentioned to Stan, you both are correct, I think it's simply too much info for the disc. I'm going to put onto 2 DVDs and I bet that solves the problem. I thought I could put up to 4 hrs. of video onto one of those DVDs. I know I can record about 4 hrs. using a DVD Player/Recorder coming from monitor straight into the player/recorder and thought this would work with PPCS4 and Encore, but there's more data to store.
Thank you both!!

5. Re: DVD Audio not synching in Encore CS4
Bill Hunt Sep 10, 2009 6:28 PM (in response to sheryl fillmon)The 2-DVD set is probably a good idea. I have been faced with similar. I have one client whose player will NOT play any burned DL discs. For him, I need to break things down to multiple disc sets.
Even with limited motion Assets, I try to limit DVD-5's to 120 mins. of Duration. If I go much over that (just a rule of thumb, based on my tests of quality), I'm reaching for the DVD-9's, or looking to find logical disc breaks in PrPro.
Good luck,
Hunt
