    Prevent Synchronizing .htaccess file

    Jack Toering Level 1
      Is there a way to prevent the synchronization of certain file types in Dreamweaver 8? Currently, I need to watch the .htaccess like a hawk so I don't end up with it on my hard drive. It is ALWAYS part of the synchronize process whether it changes or not.

      The advantages of being able to skip certain file types from synchronization extends far beyond my problem. This capability would be useful to a large part of the user base. For example: While it is nice to be able to push or get .zip files from the web server, seldom would someone want them to be part of the sync process. I'm sure you can think of many other instances.

      Thanks!.

          Taken from DW help -

          Cloaking excludes cloaked files and folders from the following operations:

          * Performing Put, Get, Check In, and Check Out operations
          * Generating reports
          * Finding newer local and newer remote files
          * Performing sitewide operations, such as checking and changing links
          * Synchronizing
          --^^^^^^^^^^^

          Might that help?

            Interesting term, and hard to find. The docs mean the file panel, not the file drop down. I would have never guessed that's what cloaking meant.

            Thanks!
