I have two computers. My first computer is a Vista 32 bit environment with Premiere Pro 2.0. I recently purchased Premiere Pro CS4 and installed it on my second computer which is a Vista 64 bit environment. Premiere Pro 2.0 recognizes my Sony A1U Camera, but Premiere Pro CS4 does not.
I am being told that I need my camera's drivers, but the camera never came with any drivers and I have had no success finding any drivers for this camera on Sony's website. Any ideas?
You don't need drivers. Vista has them all already installed. Make sure that your camera is directly connected to the firewire port and no other firewire devices are connected at the same time.
The camera is directly connected to the fireware port. I am not doing anything different than I did with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0.
This is the message I get:
"Can't activate recorder. Try resetting camera."
Reseting the camera doesn't change anything. I am wondering whether the fireport that is installed on the motherboard may be the problem.
If Vista recognizes the camera, your firewire port is OK. Check Imaging Devices in Device Manager. Does it show up?
