Maybe you could explain what the "dreaded pinwheel" is to us non-Mac people.
My bad. The pinwheel is the icon that shows the MAC is "thinking".
So I guess I should of said, that when I export to media encoder, Premiere itself locks up.....or is "thinking".
You can continue to mess with media encoder setting and so forth, but you cannot start the export because of something going on in Premiere.

It sounds like the system is loading the proper sequences into AME, but is waiting for the disk activity to abate. That can take some (or quite some) time to finish, depending on your disk setup. Pinwheel in MAC terms = Hour glass in PC terms?
Thank you for the clarification. I have heard the Mac-folk call that the "spinning beachball of death." When I read the title of this thread, I imagined the entire PrPro GUI rotating quickly on the monitor!
Harm is correct that it equals the "hourglass" on the PC. For us, that means go get a cup of coffee and see if things change, upon return.

AME and Premiere are two different programs. One should not affect the other.
